teambuilding, company party and team training activities at Friday Island
Here’s
a list of our purpose-built event facilities and how they are incorporated
into our corporate entertainment, team building and training days.
Obstacle
Course:
Built using over 100 tons of concrete, 1500 feet of telegraph poles and
1600 yards of rope, the 12 piece obstacle course is laid out through a
tree plantation. Team tasks and team building challenges are undertaken
with careful supervision as the team negotiates each obstacle. A simple
test of skill, considered planning and good team work, the obstacle course
has something for everyone.
Shooting
Gallery:
An interesting and unusual shooting range set in the marsh-land off Flintlock
Island. Guests are first of all instructed in safe and accurate use of
the weapons before being given a fixed number of 'rounds' with which to
achieve a maximum score in Archery, Cross-bows, Air-rifles & Air-pistols.
Perfect for team challenges, corporate activity days, company parties
and teambuilding exercises.
Aqua-relay:
These activities make the most of our unique lake and island assets and
are a popular feature of any corporate activity day, teambuilding event,
team training exercise or company party. Set around a course leading from
the main beach, each team is allocated one of 4 different 'craft' (Banana
Boats, Rowing Skiffs, Kayaks & Canadian Canoes). When the whistle
blows it's all hands on deck for a relay race; everyone must have been
in each craft before the race is won. A beach ball is the team’s
relay baton. |

Dragon
Boats:
Up to 20 competitors sitting side by side in a forty-foot boat. A drummer,
sitting at the prow, beating out the time on a huge drum. A helmsman
in the stern keeps the boat on course with a giant paddle. A carved
dragon’s head and tail adding length, majesty and colour to the
boat. The boat is powered down a measured course by frantic paddling.
This is Dragon Boat Racing - all ages, male and female - no previous
experience necessary and it’s great fun. Its a perfect day to
settle the scores as a grand finale for a team building day, or as an
ongoing feature of any company party.
Activity
Tower - Climbing/Abseiling:
55 sq metres of pure adrenaline! All run by professionally qualified
and enthusiastic instructors. 6 roped climbers can scale the dizzy heights
of the Climbing Tower at any one time, while another 6 of their colleagues
belay them safely up and down. An essential trust building part of the
climbing/abseiling team training experience.
Activity
Tower - Zip Wire:
90 metres of even more adrenaline! Participants are fitted with full
safety equipment and then climb the steps inside the tower to emerge
at the top and enjoy the panoramic view of Friday Island. Then it’s
time to clip on to the wire and hurtle off to either a wet or dry landing
?! Team members have varying degrees of confidence with heights –
how will your team pull together and support each other?
In
additional to these activity facilities, we have a thatched pavilion
bar, full sized marquee, toilet and shower facilities, hot tub, water
slides and a host of assorted watercraft - all permanently on-site.
Additional
facilities are added for large events according to need.
